South Western Ohio Spider

hinderjd
My family thinks it is a Brown Recluse, I think it is Dolomedes
tenebrosus (Dark Fishing Spider)

What do the bug experts think?

Re: South Western Ohio Spider

Bug Eric
You are correct:  Dolomedes tenebrosus.  Recluse spiders do not get that large for one thing.  The critical identification clue, however, is the arrangement of the eyes.  Recluse spiders have only six eyes, arranged in three pairs.  Most spiders have eight eyes, arranged differently.
